Istanbul Streetz Vol 1

I’ve decided to make a chronicle of street art in Istanbul.

There’s a lot going on with this snail in a back street in Galata. He seems to be eating a leaf, and butterflies are coming out of his shell. And there’s a burning bush in the middle of his shell, possibly a Moses allusion?

Interestingly, in early Christian icons snails represented heaven and eternity.

About mjbutterworth

I love drinking/making coffee, making/listening to music, riding bicycles, and reading about theology. I also like blogs that talk about those things. Most of all, I love Jesus because his gospel has changed my life.
