Expat life

Im celebrating our nation’s birthday in the capital, Ankara.

Every year there’s a big party on the military base, and I’ve been wanting to check out Turkey’s poltical center for a while.

I’m excited because:

  • Root beer. To be quite honest I never drink it- but it’s supposed to be at the party, and I’m gonna drink it, cuz I’m American.
  • Fireworks. I’ve only had fireworks on one out of the last three 4ths, and nothing is more patriotic than blowing stuff up.
  • Cut off jean shorts. Actually I wear these all the time. But it feels more patriotic today.

About mjbutterworth

I love drinking/making coffee, making/listening to music, riding bicycles, and reading about theology. I also like blogs that talk about those things. Most of all, I love Jesus because his gospel has changed my life.
