It’s beginning to look a lot like… New Year’s?

It’s getting chilly, chestnuts are being roasted on open fires/food carts, and artificial trees with ornaments are popping up all over the city, it must almost be… New Year’s.  Turkey as a Muslim majority country doesn’t celebrate Christmas but Turkey as a very consumeristic country has co-opted Christmas paraphernalia in effort to generate retail sales. Santa Claus, or Noel Baba in Turkish, even shows up to help usher in the New Year.

I, however, pretend it’s for Christmas.

About mjbutterworth

I love drinking/making coffee, making/listening to music, riding bicycles, and reading about theology. I also like blogs that talk about those things. Most of all, I love Jesus because his gospel has changed my life.
