Jubala Village Coffee

The Triangle been home to one of America’s best roasters for a long time, but surprisingly there’s a shortage of shops actually brewing it well in town. If you want a proper shot of Counter Culture’s Apollo espresso, it might be easier to find in New York, Boston, or Washington.

Thankfully that’s changing, largely to due to Jubala Village Coffee, a relatively new shop in North Raleigh that’s already made an impact on the local coffee scene.

During a recent visit I had an impeccable cappuccino and a shot of the single origin Papua New Guinea Baroida. It wasn’t very complex but it was super sweet, smooth and had notes of red fruit- a very tasty, drinkable espresso. I also had a really great conversation with the owner, Andrew who is really passionate about serving good coffee.

This will definitely be my shop of choice when visiting the in-laws.

About mjbutterworth

I love drinking/making coffee, making/listening to music, riding bicycles, and reading about theology. I also like blogs that talk about those things. Most of all, I love Jesus because his gospel has changed my life.
