I just got back from Arizona after a whirlwind of a weekend. We didn’t spend anytime in Phoenix to speak of, but thankfully Cartel Coffee Lab is just a stone’s throw from Sky Harbor, and it was our first stop after getting in on a red-eye from SDF.
I ordered a shot of their Black Market Espresso, which currently is a single origen: Cafatalera Zamorana from San Isidro Alajuela, Costa Rica. It was very sweet and had a bright acidity, two things I love in an espresso. I wish we had enough time to order from the slow bar, but I’ve been enjoying brewing their Santa Ana, El Salvador at home all this week.
These guys are increasingly becoming one of my favorite reasons to fly home (other than seeing family of course!)
